ROGERS™ TONG POSITIONER MODEL HTP2
Deck pedestal mounted or inverted girder mounted, hydraulic powered
box boom positioner. Heavy duty marine environment design for marine
based applications. Standard use of high quality, common and easily
repaired materials and components.
Designed and manufactured to meet or exceed A.P.I.
- 2C specification latest edition and specific requirements set
forth by the U.S. Dept. of the Interior, Minerals Management Service.
TELESCOPIC BOOM
The boom design is a 2-stage square tube box type and is constructed
of ASTM a-500, gr. B (min.) High strength steel. 8.75 foot retracted
length – 15 foot extended length. Boom base is adjustable within
"Clamp Mount" to allow ample field adjustment for proper
reach.
BOOM CROWDING
3" diameter hydraulic cylinder with nitril rod, threaded end
cap, and heavy duty piston seals are standard.
HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT
The standard hydraulic power supply is provided by the Rogers Oil
Tool drill pipe tong hpu. The Rogers™ HTP2 Tong Positioner
requires 10 gpm @ 2500 psi.
UPPERSTRUCTURE
The main rotating base (mainframe) is heavy duty, all welded steel
construction with base plate for mounting the kingpin support structure
and is symmetrical in design with localized concentration of high
stress areas avoided. Standard ASTM a-36 steel plate (or equal)
is employed and is tested to ASTM a-578 level II quality and ASTM
a-770 for resistance to lamellar tearing.
SWING ASSEMBLY
Hydraulically actuated 5" diameter hydraulic cylinder with
nitril rod, threaded end cap, and heavy duty piston seals are standard.
Cylinder swing system provides 90 degree smooth rotation.
CORROSION PROTECTION SYSTEM
Boom assembly and clamp mount are hot dipped galvanized and then
coated with hi-build epoxy intermediate coat and a polyurethane
finish coat is then applied. Remainder of weldments are blasted
to near white finish. An inorganic zinc primer, hi-build epoxy polyamide
aluminummastic intermediate coat, and a polyurethane finish coat
is applied. All hydraulic fittings / adapters and fasteners are
zinc or cadmium plated. Pins are stainless steel and lifting eyes
are provided on all major components.
MOUNT STUB PEDESTAL
14" diameter ASTM a-106-gr.b pipe (or equal) mounting stub
is provided to interface with final mount configuration.
